Selling crafts online - by James Dillehay ------------------------------------------------------------ Where else can you reach millions of potential customers at a cost of less than $100 a month? If you have the patience and persistence to learn what Internet marketing is about, the rewards can be great, if not fabulous. The best argument that I can see for online marketing is that with traditional selling, you have to spend money to make more money. For instance, if you want to sell at craft fairs, you have to send in booth rental fees months in advance of the show dates. If you do several shows a year, that's a lot of capital tied up that would otherwise be available. Expenses involved in selling online are relatively small. The real investment is in the time it takes to get set up and running with a web site, auction pages, getting links and everything else needed to be successful. Also, it's easy to find your time eaten up by the distracting influences of the net. That's why you need a focused plan of daily activities and tasks to keep you on track. Which areas of online marketing are necessary and which are a waste of time? That's the subject of my new resource, "The Basic Guide to Selling Crafts on the Internet," ------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Online help groups and magazines ------------------------------------------------------------ You aren't alone! There are hundreds of craft artists selling their work and networking to help each other.
