New Online Class: Free Motion Embroidery – Textile Necklace

Latest class brings together iconic Textile Artist with Editor of Mollie Makes

The Amazings is an online craft platform where elders with a lifetime’s knowledge and experience share skills through online classes. In the light of the pension crisis and social care challenge the UK faces as an ageing society, The Amazings offers a new way for retired citizens to supplement their income and stay active.

On 13th August 2013 The Amazings will be releasing their new  ‘Machine Embroider a Textile Necklace’ class which joins septuagenarian Gilda Baron, an international textile artist and author, with Lara Watson, Editor of popular craft magazine, Mollie Makes.

The class will see Gilda sharing year’s of experience of free motion machine embroidery. Gilda will demonstrate how to thread and prepare the machine, to a range of stitches to create the leaves and flowers needed to construct a necklace.

“..wisdom is something which is simply within you & The Amazings have shone some light on my story. I was never really a jewellery maker & I find that in life theres always something that triggers me to do something. Having been given the opportunity to work with Lara & The Amazings has really been such a charming experience” Gilda Baron

“Gildas work is just so intricate and textured, you just want to touch it. As soon as we heard about The Amazings, we were desperate to feature them in Mollie Makes. Having the chance to work with Gilda too, has been wonderful. We’ve had so much fun.” Lara Watson

To launch this class, The Amazings are running a worldwide competition for everyone that enrolls in the class to be in with a chance of winning a brand new sewing machine worth up to £300.
